Revitalization of the Frick Park Red Clay Courts

• Survey of tennis players interested in playing on clay.

  * Removing weeds by hand, without using any chemicals or pesticides.
  * Dragging and leveling the clay surface.
  * Cleaning the dirt and small stones from the surface.

  * Taking out weeds.
  * Dragging and leveling.
  * Cleaning the dirt off the surface.

• Proposal to city to purchase and install lines, and paint net posts.

• Club Purchasing and installing new lines for 4 clay courts.

  * First Club Organized Clinic held on Sept. 9, 2007.

• Hosting the September 13 Clay Court reopening party:
  * Around 100 local tennis enthusiasts attended.
  * Free tennis clinics were held on the 4 revitalized courts.
  * Local tennis pros donated their time to support the club.

• Collaborating with Citiparks with 87th Annual the Paul G. Sullivan tournament Sept 15-23:
  * Participation increased threefold from 2006, with over 60 players for the year 2007.

• Organizing player leagues.

• Installing signs and promoting clay court rules.

• Designing and constructing red clay drag mats.

• Collecting acorns and leaves in collaboration with park.

• Cleaning and leveling courts 5 and 6.
