The Frick Park Clay Courts are in the process of replacing the court fence and expanding the viewing area. The historic Frick Park clay courts will have new black clad tennis
fencing for the 2010 Red Clay Season, which will include transforming the shady
Court 6 at the back end of the courts into an new Exhibition Court with viewing bleachers on the side.
This is a
Pittsburgh Parks and Recreation project funded by the Allegheny
Regional Asset District (ARAD) - and the contractor is Allegheny Fence
of Hazelwood. All modifications, including the new Exhibition Court, and new entrance and service gates were
proposed by the Frick Park Clay Court Tennis Club.

The dramatic improvement is a new viewing area behind a low fence at the far end of the court away from Braddock Ave. The design also adds two new player gates, in additional to the central gate, so that during tournaments players can get to their court without walking behind another court; and two additional service gates at far end to access the viewing area and back courts.
